The aim of present study is to investigate the experience of 0-8 year old children’s accessibility to and use of computer and telecommunication technologies, how they can make sense these experiences and what type of relationship they set up between their on - and off - line lives in the case of Northeast Anatolia Region, Erzurum, Erzincan and Bayburt. It is known that, parents may influence and determine children&#039;s media use practices. Therefore, it was also investigated in the scope of the study that how parents make sense these technologies and what type of mediation role they play for their children in the process, which the children established with these technologies. Data were collected using face-to-face in-depth interviews with 20 children and 20 parents. It was determined that both parents and children have a greater focus on internet risks than on the opportunities, they do not have enough knowledge about both the risks and the opportunities, they have misconceptions and the most common form of mediation that parents use is restrictive mediation.</p></trans-abstract>
